How long (in terms of actual use) do 3000HH polyester flysheets tend to last.
Our favourite tent is our HiGear Gobi (plus Hypercamp tarp). Have used it for 2 years during which it has been pitched 12 times and up for about 60 nights in total. A variety of conditions - wind and rain to 40 plus degrees in Southern France. It has done us proud but on last outing for this year I noticed 2 holes (each about 10mm across) in the flysheet. There is no 'flap' of fabric left - almost as though a polyester eating moth has taken a nibble. I have successfully patched them but am wondering if the flysheet is starting to break down and I need to buy another Gobi next time GO have them on offer.
What is the experience of others?
