Personally, I'd try and get a good condition Aspen 500. There were a few people not impressed with its replacement. Just so happens I have the standard Aspen 500 model for sale, but there have been a few deluxe version on ebay recently. I think people find them a bit hard to pitch.

Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Hi crodda,

I think you will be really impressed with your new tent. Have you pitched it yet. If not, it's best to pitch like a tunnel tent. If you have pitching instructions, usually part of the inside of the bag, there are two ways that Vango have given depending on year of manufacture. The second and best, being as a tunnel tent. I had the original version with mine, but decided to pitch as a tunnel tent, and found it much easier. The following year, they changed the instructions. It's also easier if there are three people helping, but we manage with two, and neither of us are very tall. We do all the pole section fitting with it on the ground, including the front to back roof bars. They suggest pushing the front to back poles through after the tent is up, but this has caused problems with the poles tearing the pole sleaves.

Re carpet, we just use a double picnic blanket. We have too many tents to have made to measure versions.
