I wanted a bigger tent and decided to get one second hand off ebay.... Unfortunately it came without instructions and I can't work out how to put it up!
I've googled it, and emailed the seller twice for help, but got nothing.
It's a Tesco (yes I know) 8 man tent with what looks like one large bedroom section for the inner across the back, split by mosquito dividers, and a generous porch plus an enormous fly the size of antartica!
There looks like a door on each sides rather than the front, with possibly more storage inside the front of the porch area where the door usually is.
The fly has slots for the polls on the outside, so I'm guessing that goes up first! But the fly also has these two long straps going from each side to the other. I've no idea what these are for, and how the inner tent is supposed to fit with these. Can anyone offer any advice, as my previous four man dome tent was a doddle, but this is like being on the Krypton Factor!?

What colour is it? Is it the green and grey colour? I didn't think they had a tunnel tent with a living room at the front just a vis a vis style tent. Maybe I'm wrong....away to google.
Hi, i'd say blue and grey i think. But tunnel yes, that's it. It's possible that it is a vis a vis one but i don't think so as the inner is only on one side across the back, and there's a separate ground sheet for the rest of the tent, so i assumed it was a storage space not a bedroom?
Hello hp1701.
You have got a Vis-A-Vis tent, but consider it a 2 + 2 person with space for kit.
The bedroom pods connect after you have set up the outer.
I'm wondering if you have picked up a 'returned' model.
My local outlet puts returned kit back on the shelf.
I'm not sure they check them to ensure all the kit is still there?
It's easy to say "commonsense will let you know how it sets up", but it is better to have instructions, and/or 'Type Specific' experience.
The instructions that came with mine were a poor translation from Chinese, but I worked it out.
Despite the HHP of 1500mm, it did not leak at all in heavy rain last month.
But DO regard it as a 'Fair Weather' tent.
You will find it is a 2 person job to erect it, even in calm air.
If it's not far, return to the store and request a copy of the instructions.
Kind regards James

I don't know that particular tent but you mentioned two long straps going from one side to the other. If it is like most tunnel tents with a seperate groundsheet those straps just lay on the ground beneath the groundsheet. They are usually attached to the flysheet at the base of each pole and basically stop the poles from spreading out wider than they should be at the base. They may be adjustable but not always. I believe they call them tension straps.
