Well I say new, its new to me. I have just pitched my second hand 2007 BL6 in the garden and was quite suprised how easy it was to pitch compared with my old Zanzibar. I managed to pick it up from ebay for £375 the only problem im having is the front door zip. The top to bottom zip works great but the bottom to top zip gets stuck and the zip comes open behind the slider. I have tried with no tension and it still does it.

The matching wood panel design windbreak looks good too
I would imagine the zip has had it if it comes open the wrong side of the fastener. This usually happens when the teeth are broken or badly worn and can no longer grip together.

I'm not familiar with the BL, but when you say the 'top' and 'bottom' zip, do you mean that there are the usual two zip pulls on the one door zip? Bob has made a valid point, but I would have thought that if it was a problem with the zip teeth then you would get the same gap when you used either zip pull. It could be that the teeth are worn on one side (possible but unusual) You could check this by looking very closely at the effected area. Whatever the reason - could you not just use the top to bottom zip and forget about the other? You have probably decided to do this anyway, but if you're otherwise happy with the tent, and you're keeping it, then If I were you I would take the pull tab off the other zip to make sure you don't use it.
It's a nice tent and a good price though - hope you have many happy camps in it!
I'm sure I remember there was a problem with the door zips on the first bear lakes that came out? Hope you can fix it, tent looks fab!
I seem to remember it was very hard to close the front door, even when bringing in the front set of poles slightly to try and take the tension off the zip.
We have the 2010 model and there is no problem at all opening/closing the front door.

we bought a BL6 in 2007 (when Yeomans were selling them for £450) we had 2 replacements as the front door zip was very difficult to zip up. In the end we gave up and got our money back. Think alot of the tents had a problem that year but not heard about it since. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear.
