Hi I'm looking for tent for 2 of us, it doesnt need standing height but would like to be able to use table and chairs in it. Would also like SIG, for under £100.
Any suggestions please?

Thanks

How about this one?

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/Kampa-Minnis-4/1419

I got one of these a couple of months ago for just myself and the two dogs, used it for the first time last month and it's great. Really easy to put up - I use one bedroom for myself and the other for the dogs, loo and storage with a small table and chair in the middle, but if you only put one of the bedroom pods in you'll have loads of room for table and chairs and other stuff. I know this is showing at over £100 - mine was £99 from Camperlands in Manchester though I've just checked the website and it says they haven't any in stock - but if you can go the extra few quid I think it would be worth it. You could always search the net, or on ebay, to see if you could find it cheaper though.

There was even a Minnis on ebay - a retailer return for £69. Usually they retail for £99.

If it meant that we could have had our son alongside us, I'd have gone for it (but unfortunately it doesn't) - but if you like vis-a-vis tents - its a great little tent. Some sites mention that it has flymesh on the outer doors. According to a correction by Kampa it unfortunately doesn't. The Minnis is also in Kampa's 2011 range with seemingly the same spec but higher priced, so I'd get one now.

There is also the Kampa Perran which is stand-up height, SIG, etc. One that only needed a replacement pole (replaced by Kampa already and being sold by Kampa itself) is going for £49 (no bids yet) on ebay. Retails around £115, but you may be able to find cheaper.

Not seen the Minnis, but Kampa tents are quality tents.

CaseyOutdoors £97 delivered or for £20 more you can get package with carpet and footprint

I can highly recommend the Vango Kairos 300 (or slightly larger 400) if you can actually find one anywhere. Easy as pie to put up in a flash one your own and remarkably roomy inside with a separate bedroom and living area with SIG. I love mine, which cost me a bargainous 85 squids, but they seem very difficult to get hold of.

Hi Thanks for all the suggestions - I like all the tents.

I have realised it would probably be best if I could see some tents erected to get better idea of size and spec. My OH is used to backpacking tents and me the Orchy, but we need something practical for the 2 of us to use for the colder and windier weather.

We live in Nottinghamshire can anyone tell me of any tent displays in the area please?

I am really grateful for all the help

At this time of year you will be limited to retailers with indoor displays. You may be lucky and find one in your area, but unless they have a large building - there will only be one or two up.

I searched and searched and searched for somewhere with the Kairos on display and never found anywhere. I eventually gave up and just bought it with my fingers crossed (naughty!) and was highly relieved when it was even better than I'd imagined. But I completely understand the desire to see tents up before buying them - normally I am exactly the same.

Although we saw Kampa tents in a display last year, we've actually bought all our  current tents blind and been very happy with them.

I have an Aztec Cascada 2, bought to take a niece camping with us, sewn in ground sheet, canopy door (ie door becomes a canopy), put up with Cornish winds and monsoons, never leaked, brilliant tent (currently for sale by the way check out the adverts bit), packs small enough to hike with as well, fly over inner dome construction so warm as well!

Could you splash out to the tune of £123? If so, get an Icarus 500. It's perfect for 2.
