We are now the proud owners of a Nevada M plus the extension brought for a bargin price of £165 from ebay. The only problem is the inside roof pole is missing, the tent has the holes for it but would need the measurements to do a custom jobby as I don't think we have any hope of getting a replacement from Outwell. Does anyone know how long the pole is?

Although you might not get a replacement from Outwell (although it's worth a try) it is likely that they'll be able to give you a dimension for that pole.

This website is really good for all sorts of bits and pieces.

Thanks, I had a look at tentspares but not very many outwell products. I think I'll give outwell a try if only for the measurements.

I've been a long time lurker it's just taking that first step lol

I'll see if I can dig out my tent tomorrow and measure it for you.

I know off the top of my head the diameter is 12.7mm and that if you buy an Outwell pole kit you even get the metal bit that goes on the end of the pole and goes in the tents attachment hole. It's worth buying a kit anyway as then you'll have some spares as the lower sections of the main tent poles are this diamaeter.

The outwell pole kit may just be the very thing I need, thanks for the suggestion Audsleyl. Would you know how many poles I'd need to make up the correct length? Def worth having the spare poles, we've had to replace poles on our last two tents so know the importance.

Hi
I have a very simple fix...Just don't bother with the pole...It really has very little affect on the tent. Far better to buy a £4.00 pack of 4 Outwell guy ropes and add these the the front and middle hoops.
Cheers

The pole is in four sections with a total fibreglass span of 1.75 metres. The sections are pretty much equal in length.

There are two metal ends: one fits into the ring at the front of the tent, the other reduces the diameter to what looks like 11mm (not sure if the pole kit comes with this, but it may do as the main tent poles have such a reducer), this fits in the adjustable holder at the sleeping end of the tent. The reducer overhangs the fibreglass by 50mm making the whole assembly 1.8 metres long.

302

Hope this helps.

Edit: The adjustable holder at the back of the tent has quite a range so provided you are +/- 25mm to 1.8m you will be fine. Also the photo is there to show the metal pole ends, not the sections (trust me there are four, not three like the photo shows).

The pole doesn't really do anything to be honest - it's basically for hanging tea towels off etc. (I'm not being facetious - this is actually how it's described in the instructions if I remember correctly!). It doesn't serve any kind of structural purpose.

I agree the pole assembly does nothing structurally for the tent but I find it useful for hanging a light from. It can't take too much weight but takes a bulb holder with a clip easily and I assume it would take the existing EHU lights Outwell do (although they are pricey for what they are).

Thanks for all you help, the pic is especially helpful. We don't really want the pole for any strengthening reason but more for ufo lights, tea towel hanging etc. I'm going to get the outwell spares kit and go from there.
