Having brought a Mojave 5 earlier in the year we were dissapointed to find that there were no canopies or extensions available for it and according to Go Outdoors ( end of November ) it doesnt look like there is going to be one until 2012 at the earliest. However while we were in Go Outdoors we looked at the Vango icarus 500 canopy and could not decide wheather it would fit as it was a litle bit short on the width and the height. While looking on ebay i found an Vango icarus 600 canopy in blue and the measurements were very close to the size of the front of the Mojave 5. I wont be able to try it out untill next year and i think with a little persuasion it should do the trick, if not it will be up for sale, it only cost £44:99 from nearly new tents. What people think have i made a good investment or a boo boo ??

I think you'll get it to work ok. If it doesn't flog it again on ebay, The icarus is a very popular tent so I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it on. Try and find out one way or another at the beginning of the season as that would be the best time to sell it if you needed to.

I have a Kampa extension for my Khyam Ontario 8 and a Lichfield extension from my Licata 400.

You don't have to buy model specific when it comes to extensions/sun canopies so just find something that has similar dimensions to your tent and go for it!

well hopefully it should be ok, the width of the front of the mojave 5 is 380mm and the height is 210mm the vango canopy is 395mm wide and 205mm the only thing i am worried about is the fixing at the sides. On the posotive side the colour nearly matches the tent so all good. When i try it on the tent will post some pics for all the other mojave 5 owners to see.
