No we didnt ever have any success and gave up. All the tent shops told us we wouldnt get one to fit. Shame as it's a great tent but i think we will end up eBaying it and buy and newer version now.

We are now thinking of selling all our Hatford XXL gear this year. That's an hartford XXL tent (the good one!), genuine footprint, genuine carpet and the genuine front canopy (again- the good one!). All our gear has been well looked after, used about 8 times, all in near perfect condition - cleaned, wiped and packed dry each time and stored in the house. Very reluctant to sell as we love the gear and it still has many years of use. Reason for sale is that there will only be 3 of us soon - lots of space for 3 people!!!

I have read that you can "adapt" the new canopy to fit the old style tent. This was on this forum last year, dont know what it involves doing though
