Hi
The 2011 Monty 6 has a yellow pin stripe around the bottom of the tent - it comes with really good pegs which would cost about £20 to purchase, the 2010 comes with normal basic pegs - yes the 2011 has a new "Wind Stabilisation system" which really works, the guys sort of velcro around the poles but it more than that, you need to see it working, type "outwell montana 6 wind and rain test" into youtube, maybe google it, the windows no longer zip completely open, they are a lot bigger though. The 2011 will be about £500 and the 2010 was £429 in season but maybe cleared at a lower price if you can find one in stock.
The Montana Lake is the poly cotton tent and that a completley different tent.
The reason for all the price rises across the brands is due to raw material price increases, labour costs in the far east, shipping costs etc etc. Better get used to it as the people in the far east start to get a better standard of living, we have all had it to good for to long...

Hi Gary, as always, your updates & info are very helpful. A few questions, if you don't mind.
So, will Outwell sell the 'upgrade' pegs as a kit for £20? It may be better just to go out and buy some rock pegs plus some of those other special pegs (can't remember the name of them, but the steel right angled ones mentioned on here a bit).
I bought a Montana (2009 model in 2009) between Xmas/New Year. Used it 3 times for 3/4 nights each. Quality control seems to have slipped because I had to take it back in November. Luckily it was exchanged for a new one, which was a 2010 model. However, had it been okay, I'd have been on the market for some new pegs, because quite honestly the plastic supplied ones are crap in hard ground.
Is the wind Stabilisation system that different? One reason I bought the Monty is that it is already resilient to the wind, as I mainly do coastal camping.
Just looked at the Montana Lake. I have been eyeing up polycotton tents, as I would like a tent that is slightly warmer, however, a purchase is at least a year off for the moment. But it did seem to be almost a replica of the Monty, except for the material.
That's a big difference between a selling price of £500 and £1,200. Cotton must be a lot more expensive than I thought, or am I missing something?
