Hello All,

First time poster...long time lurker...

We went to see this on Saturday and loved it. We have had a nile 600 for the last couple of years. Whilst it's a great tent it is very noisy even in a slight breeze so we had been looking for a good polycotton to fit our needs. This one looks like it ticks most of the boxes for us. We have stuck down a deposit and go back to pick it up on the 26th march. Will be attempting to stick it up in the garden that weekend. (I say attempting, it will probably involve some swearing and most definately some alcoholic lubrication).

Will let you know how we get on!

Rayn

 HI

Nobody is jealous if you want one you buy one but people on this site are very savvy when it comes to tents !!

The points made about sloping doors and no opening windows are very valid on a tent that costs well in excess of £1000. The size of the tent around 8 x 5 means having a porch extension or a side extension will meen the tent will be to large for a standard pitch and you will need one of these if its raining or you'll have another feature (a indoor paddling pool).

I have actually looked a having one of these but have decided on a 2nd hand Norfolk lake instead ( not because of price but in my opinion it's a far better tent)

Having had a Norfolk Lake I think it will be interesting to see if the Clear Lake takes off or if having inherited the Norfolks shortfall, for when it rains, will it be its downfall ?

Outwell have created an interesting tent without a doubt and with a full ZIG which is partly my concern. With the Norfolk the rain came in when you needed to get in or out, but at the front you only had a bathtub to contend with which could be folded back and also no carpet, but with the Clear Lake  get my point ?

Its a very large tent with a lot of windows and although I have not had the chance to see one as yet, for some odd reason in the pictures it looks like it is lacking something which I just can not put my finger on. It just doesnt look like its finished to me, the windows look bare like they are missing something, or is it just a cleaner line than the older Classic Outwells ?

The other thing that I am surprised about is that they seem to have dropped the side bracing bars which makes the Classic Outwells so sturdy in poor weather compared to some of the other tunnel tents.

I just hope its a winner for them and for those who do own one that a wet floor isn't too much of an issue.

Hiya,

We went to see it at camping world in Frensham, hants. I guess it is horses for courses. i have to admit that I had heard the number of concerns about a wet weather exit/entry to tent problem. But it does kinda depend on what are your top priorities.

There are 5 of us and due to some rather long and boring reasons for my 10 year old daughter, we have to bring a loo. In our current tent we had a "pod" to stick this in, but hadn't found an inside configuration of a tent that could work with the loo. This one does for us as it gives us the sep 'bedroom' space so the loo doesn't sit out where the food etc would be.

I think this one will work for us, or at least I hope it does!!

Will keep our old Nile 600 just in case..

BTW it's Rayn not Ryan.... I'm a laddeeee don't you know!!!!

Hi Tinny,

We went to camping world in Frensham, Hampshire.   I think camping world have a number of locations maybe they have something a bit nearer to you guys?

We are going back to see it again today (yes I know, v v sad Apparently ours has arrived, however, I am not terribly keen on getting it today as we need to make some minor alterations to the garden so that we can pitch it.

Good luck with the search, think I will take a few more piccies on my phone today when I am there, if they are any good I will post them later.

Rayn
