OK, it's January, and mrs jimandali & I are thinking about the coming camping season. Looks like we've reached the end of the road with our 2006 Vango Diablo 600, and with the weans getting bigger we're looking at a 3 bed-pod tent.
We like the idea of keeping the dome-style and have narrowed the search (with our budget) to a Vango Colorado 800 dlx or an Outwell Hartford XL. After a few drookins, we're also pretty keen on the pitch outer first idea.
Would appreciate anyone's thoughts comments on the tents we're considering, as well as suggestions as to makes/models we might have missed.
Cheers
jimandali

The Vango Colorado 800dlx has been discontinued, but you might be able to find a 2010 model still available. They seem to have replaced it with the Kasari 800
We have the hartford XL and its pitch in one, 3 good sized pods and plenty of living space. However it really only is a 6 berth. it is a wide tent but we've not had any problems at sites. On sale at Taunton leisure for £315
We have a Colorado 800DLX, its a great tent, we use ours when taking the grandchildren away so plenty of room, we have set up time down to 40 minutes now(practise LOL).
If you are still interested the is now one in the Free adverts section, and a good price too, nothing to do with me, but may help if you are on a budget.
Best regards David

Thanks for the feedback folks jaybee was right about the Colorado 800 dlx being discontinued, but we picked a 2010 model up with footprint & carpet (wooo! posh or what?) for a bit over £300.
The clincher was the fact that there would have been a 'discussion' between the wee jimandalis about who got the smaller pod if we'd gone for the Outwell. Either that or mrs jimandali & I would have had to have taken the wee one to keep the peace. Didn't fancy that much.
Looks like the manufacturers are moving away from the dome style in preference to the tunnel style. Have no major beef with tunnels, but the dome/sleeping pod design suits our needs better.
Happy 2011 camping all!
