I am new to camping in big family tents and I have a question about pack size of fittet carpets.

Without knowing my feeling is that its pretty cosy with a fittet carpet.

I am buying a outwell tent, probably Nevada XL.

Anybody with experience in Outwell fitted carpets. How big is the pack size of on your outwell fitted carpet?

Yep, the fitted carpets do make it feel very comfortable, and the Outwell ones in particular are very good.

We have one for our 5 berth tunnel tent and the carpet packs up to about the same size as a standard roll mat.

Standard roll mat? Im not sure exactly how big a standard roll mat is? could you give me an estimate of measurements and weight - the outwell website and other webshops does not say.

Useful as regards keeping SIG clean, and selecting tent position. A cheap tarp cut to size (a few cms smaller than than tent outline) works as well.

When we first got a tent carpet for our 2007 Sunvalley 6 we had reservations,but tbh we would never camp without it.It just makes the tent feel lovely and snug and nice and warm to your feet,luckily it fits our new Bearlake 6 so it saved us buying another one.

Ours packs up to around 60cm L x 30cm W x 10cm thick,hope that helps.

With a SIG tent you'd be very unwise not to get a footprint or make one yourself. You'll be for ever trying to wipe off the wet and dirt from the bottom of the SIG to stop it getting on the flysheet when you pack the tent away.

With a footprint you can plan the position of the tent, prevent thorns puncturing the SIG and be able to pack the tent away clean. The footprint you can just bin bag and hose clean when you get home.

Ok, thanks everybody. Found a package deal with fitted carpet but no footprint. Maybee I need to include the footprint aswell then.

Both are well worth it though we just use a cheap tarpaulin of Ebay and cut it to size for the footprint
