Hello, my 5m soulpad belltent arrived this week, :) .. now im busy looking and buying things to go in it..
We are 4 plus doggie..
We havent anywhere to put our tent up to see whats its like, our garden is tiny..
We dont exactly travel lightly, and i would like to keep as much room inside the tent without it being all cluttered, for my two little girls to play on rainy days, and to have a sort of area to sit in the evenings to chill when girls asleep..
Im not sure what to do, should I buy a utility tent... or a big malu awning.. would all the kitchen gear be ok kept under one of these awnings all the time ?? OR are 5m bell tents big enough for a kitchen area aswell as a sofa area...
I would be ever so grateful for any help and advice ..
Thank you .. BoBach xx

Go for a utility and throw all the garbage in there! Keeps the bell tidy, the food smells out the canvas

Plus 4 in the 5m bell is more than enough anyway

The malu awning is nice to sit under in the summer, but if its windy it will need to come down and you are a bit stuck then!

alll the scruffy stored in the pop up (quechua base seconds)

and the tent stays as a 'living' area

P1050161.jpg

there isnt that much 'usable' space in the bell for kitchens etc

Hi Bobach,

I also have the same Bell tent, and use it for one or two people. I bought a utility to use, as it's so much nicer to have all the clutter in a different place. Like Vals tent in the pictures above. Also I check with sites before visiting them to check there is no extra charge for utilty tents or awnings. Some sites are so bad for charging extra for almost everything, it won't be long before they charge for guy line pegs as they are outside the tent  !!!!!

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Hi Bobach, I too bought a 5m bell tent with zig from Soulpad back in November. I found their service brilliant and delivery was so fast. Still haven't been able to pitch it yet but will do as soon as the weather turns warmer. I too am so excited (and the wait is truly killing me!!).

I also picked up the base seconds with groundsheet from Decathlon and will use it as a utility tent. I managed to kinda pitch it in my lounge........well, it exploded out of the bag on me when I was fiddling with it to be honest but it's fab! There's a knack to packing it away but I managed to do so really quickly which is a first for me!

Which bell did you go for and have you managed to buy any goodies to go in it yet?

If you want the same one that Val has, I phoned my Decathlon store today the do delivery to my postal address and even though it's not on the website they've told me they could still post out.  Might be worth a call for £39.99 (if you're in an area where they deliver of course)

Oooh! I too have gone for a colour theme for my bell. I'm working on a Cornish coastal theme with lots of pale blues and lemon along with the cream. Would love to know which scheme you decide on.

I also cannot think of nothing else and often dream about actually being in the tent and enjoying it to the max. Whenever we go shopping whether it be in a supermarket or whatever I always find something that I think will be useful for camping and it's driving my OH bonkers! Mind you, he went shopping on his own the other day and came back with one item and he said "I thought this might be good for camping" I nearly choked on my cuppa and fell off my chair!!!

Hope you manage to pick up a base seconds soon. They still have some at Decathlon stores but not sure if there is one near you? If you can get it there it could be a cheaper purchase than from ebay.

Sounds gorgeous whichever you decide! Happy shopping!!

It can be done on a tight budget and you'll save loads as you're planning on making a lot of the bits and bobs yourself.

All very exciting! Enjoy!!
