We have a Horizon 8 with a blue porch purchased last year.

We are looking for a weekend tent and have considered the Atlantis 5. Does any one know or has used the Horizon porch on the side of the Atlantis? Dimensionally it looks like it would cover all but the sloping front and back, but not sure on the fit over the top? It would save the investment in a canopy for the tent as it is similar colour

I have an Atlantis 5, but never used any porch on it, to be honest, its never been out of the bag, been to wet, cold to pitch it yet, be interesting to see what happens, as the reviews for the Atlantis 5 are a bit thin on the ground.

I'm also curious to see how this goes for you. I just bought an Atlantis 5 last week and haven't had a chance to pitch it.

I think Vango make a universal tunnel extension. Well, they make two: one to go on the front and one to go on the side. I'd be interested in seeing how either of these do. They make the extensions either as just an open arch, or with a zippered door.

I think they'd very likely work.

I, for one, don't care about the colour matching.

I think brand new day is probably right with the vango porch idea to use on the front

I have seen on a website that there is a gelert atlantis 5 front canopy with doors, but its the 2011 version and its not the same colour as the 2010 tents, I just have to find the the site now, once I find the site, i will post it here, If memory serves me right it was around £120..

EDIT: Found it

Gelert Porch

Another thing to look at, look at the size of the Vango Icarus 500 and the Gelert Atlantis 5 and the Hi Gear Blackrock 5, they are virtually all the same tent, but i haven't checked up on the measurements,

You can use the Horizon porch on the Atlantis, but just be mindful of a few things...

There may be a problem securing the edge of the porch at the front of the tent as it may cover the front door and prevent it from opening properly.

Also

If not secured it will also lift off the tent in windy conditions.
