Haha its me again......
I had exactly the same problem! The instructions are useless..... So here goes with our method.
1. Peg out all our corners to get a good shape. Make sure the doors are partially unzipped to stop the vacuum effect and to help let the air in. (same goes for when pulling it down to let the air out)
2. Slide in your first curved roof pole (the end which is window side of the doors), then raise it up and attach the side poles. Dont worry about attaching the poles to the peg/strap tags yet or even getting them close, just get it upright.
3. Repeat with other poles, one at a time. (Roof curve in, sides on, then raise) Last poles to raise will be the angle poles for the main bedroom end. (see pic of tent of erected tent if unsure which one i mean)
4. Make sure the tent is square on your poles.
5. Put base of poles in strap eyes that run underneath the tent. Line up the poles nice and square down both sides and peg down straps. These can be adjusted on one side to get a good shape.
6. Clip tent sides to poles. By this time the tent will be up square and safe, so doors can be opened, carpet in etc if there is 2 of you.
7. Finish pegging the base out on the ends/storm flaps etc.
8. Peg out the many many guy ropes. I usually do ends first and keep switching sides when pegging the sides so as not to make it lop-sided
9. Fit door arch and window and hey presto the tent is done!
The extension is a great addition but can be a pain to put up. Dont even bother if its windy!
1. Put the pole in nearest to the tent, attach the extention to the main tent poles first and throw the cover over the roof and attch to the poles on the other side of the tent. This will stop it all blowing all over the place as it will only become freestanding when the guy ropes go in.
2. Put the second pole in, pull the extension out and to shape, then get the guy ropes in quick! You dont need to be fussy at this point.
3. Now you can attach the poles to the floor straps, get a good shape and peg them out.
4. Re-adjust your guy ropes now that you have a better shape.
5. Sit back and relax.... you are finished..........apart from, beds, table, chairs, kitchen stands, so on and so on and so on....
Good Luck! The first time I put it up, I was on my own and with a little trial and error it wasnt too difficult. It took about 90 minutes. The big mistake I made was putting all the curved roof poles in before trying to raise them. The extra weight made it almost impossible, hence the one at a time method we use now
I hope this helps,
Rob
