Hello everyone

After spending numerous amounts of time looking at tents we have decided on a Vango Tigris 600 (2010) we will also be opting for the groundsheet and a carpet but this is where we fall down.

The tigris 600 comes with 2 sleeping pods (one at either end of the tent) however we will only be using the larger sleeping area to give us more living space as it will just be used by 2 adults and a small dog, the carpet for this model would I guess normally fit between the 2 sleeping areas so we will now have a decent area which is not covered.

Does anyone know if a larger style carpet would be a better option to buy so til fill the empty void?

Thanks

I suspect that the inner tents clip down to the floor at the front. If you have a larger carpet, they will not be able to do so. You could find a carpet that fills the gap. I haven't checked the dimensions, but we bought the Kampa Minnis carpet 210 x 110cm as an inner tent carpet. May be this or another small tent carpet may serve your purpose...

Good luck!

Helen

I was told that the new carpet for the tigris 800 (2011) fits the whole tent when you only have the sleeping areas at one end set up.  Maybe the carpet for the tigris 600 2011 model is the same.  It's pricier but its made from a lovely fleece material.

Cheers for that, looking at getting the package which includes the groundsheet only...(but please provide link) still on the hunt for a carpet, thanks for the tip of re the 2011 models.

The measurements for the tent come in at 590 in length, take off 210cm for sleeping area which gives me around 380cm to play with (width is around 280-310cm)

The other option to consider is looking at the hi gear kalahari 8 berth tent carpet as the tent measurements are 710 length (305 width) - expect the carpet length to be around 290cm mark....so still short!!

Thanks for the offer but I think will we opt for the 800 carpet with a picnic rug to make up the shortfall...unless I find what I am looking for.

The 2011 800 carpet fits 2/3 of the tent. It specifically looks like it is designed to fit from the edge of the 4-man pod to the far end of the tent, so that if you only have one 2-man pod up (or none) you always have carpet in the gap. Top design - seamed hole in it for the click at the base of the pod.

Just watch an online vid and the 600 carpet streches from the start of the 4 berth pod right up to the door at the other side, the thing i did notice about this vid was it had the new triangular design carpet yet the vid was posted back in otober last year, very strange because I thought the 2010 carpet was the grey/black squared design

HI all

this is my first posting here and there is alot of frenidly advice here as i am new to camping since the sea cadet days in army surplus tents it is great seeing people helping each other out.

sorry to drag up an old thread up but this is the question i have been asking my self

what size is the carpet and will it fit under the front bedroom all the way to the front

i spoke to vango and they confirmed that the 2011 carpet does so i bought one from Taunton Leisure £48.00 posted lovely people to do business with and arived 3 days later.

the mesurments on the box are 375x310 and this is correct as i mesured it my self before seeing it written on the box

i do not know if the 2010 carpet is the same size

hope this helps someone

take care and all the best Geof

Hi, i had a same prob with my kalihari 10, just using it for 2 adults with just one pod up. I brought the tent as a package so got one carpet and then got another that was half price for the other end. There will be a slight over lap but we'll have that under the one pod that we put up, so. Wall to wall carpet. Sorted.

The Tigris carpet goes under the bedrooms by the end door so when you take them out its carpeted up to the front door, well at least it does in our friends Tigris
