Please see attached instructions of how to construct the Normandy5 tent.

Normandy 5

Unwrap the tent and construct the poles. All 4 poles are the same length.

Now lie the flysheet out with the pole sleeves (black) facing up. Take care to ensure that the webbing adjustment points on both sides of the fly are slackened off to give maximum length of webbing between both sets of pins and rings.

Take each pole and feed through the sleeve from one side of the fly to the other. Always push the poles as opposed to pulling them as this way they will always hold together as one. Once all poles are sleeved through the fly then start to make them into the loop. Take the rear pole first and insert the end ferrule into the pin on the webbing ring.

Cross to the other side of the fly and pull the webbing across to enable the opposite pin to be placed in the free end of the pole, this should make the pole into a semi circle.

Repeat this with the other three poles, so they are semi circles, and laid out on the ground.

Now take four of the guy lines and attach them through the eyelets onto either side of the front pole semi circle and either side of the back semi circle. With the assistance of another person pull the tent up so that the front pole is vertical and located where you want it. Now peg out the front guy lines so that they support the front pole to stand-alone.

Pull the rest of the tent back to make the sides taut and peg out the rear two-guy lines. Adjust the pole tensioning straps (at the pin and ring buckle) to take the slack out of the flysheet. Now the tent can be pegged out through the pin and rings for all four poles, either side of the tent. Make sure the poles are in a straight line to the vertical seams on the tent fly and that they are in a straight line.

Now take the sprung metal poles and assemble them into one length per pole, ensure that these are adjusted to their shortest length. With both of them constructed feed them inside the tent in line with the ties on the sidewall above the ventilated windows. Extend the pole to take up some of the slack through the side of the tent, make sure the pole slots into the black webbing pockets at both the front and rear of the tent. These are not stretching poles but designed as stabilizers to stop the tent moving in excessive winds. Once any slack is taken out of the side of the tent tighten the clamp on the side of the pole tube, sleeves are provided for these poles to prevent condensation forming on them.

Peg out the rear section of the tent to give the extra space in the sleeping cabins. Once this is done you can now pitch the two cabins. The two-man cabin is designed to be pitched to the right hand side, the 3 man to the left. Pitch the corners furthest away from the front door first; attach the suspension elastics for the back of the cabin and then work to the front.

The front of each cabin should line up with the webbing strap below the last window of the living area. This will give a small amount of space between the cabin and the fly at the rear of the tent.

Finally fit the zip in door to either front or rear position as required. Add the rest of the guy lines and pitch out.
