Outwell have finally made a front extension with side walls for the Bear Lake.  Fabulous space (280 cm in length), Only problem is it will push the total tent length over the standard pitch size for a C&CC site, meaning you'll need to pay an extra £10 per night for a jumbo pitch.  Come on Outwell, all we want is a front canopy with side walls, you did it with the Wolf Lake.

Hi
The overall length is 7.40 cm with the new extension. You need to take of the sun shade that comes with the tent.

Thank you Gary.  I'm being thick, forgot to deduct the old canopy measurements from the tent length. Time to save up for the front extension me thinks.

Hi cage, take it you dont drop by here that often then  joined may 2008 and this looks to be your 1st post

Yep the BL6 canopy has been talked about for a while now on here and I think most BL owners are very happy. However, you are right that it does make for one rather large unit when all pitched but you do have a degree of flexibility with it. The fact that it is basically 2 free standing pole sections and 2 equal panels so in theory you could fold/roll back one section and leave that pole section out if you do get a site warden who walks around with his yard stick. Alternatively if you personally only want one section then it would be very simple to separate the two sections of the canopy to give you just what you want.

Anyway good to see you getting involved and hope we see you back soon

We pre ordered an extension and had an email yesterday to say it's on its way. Yippee!

It will fit on the C & CC pitch at Dartmouth.

Hello 2gocampin.  Yes it is my first post, shame I didn't engage brain first!  Like to browse, but not brave enough to post.

I couldn't find much about the new canopy on here, but will have another look, no doubt I'm searching in the wrong area.

Gonna start saving the pennies for the new canopy, especially now I realise it will fit on a standard pitch. It will be a great area to cook and eat under. Got fed up last year with the rain getting me under the exsisting canopy.

I saw a BL6 on ebay about a month ago, with a second BL6 modified as a huge canopy/extension .. talk about massive.  Now if they can get away with that, this canopy should be a doddle!

Thanks for your reply.

Hi cage,

Yes I noticed that BL on ebay, it was a tad overkill I think personally

No, I think the new canopy will make a massive difference to the BL, as you say the standard canopy is fine when its dry but no good in the rain. We had a canopy like this in the past on a smaller weekend tent and it was great to sit under when it was raining.

Anyway don't be shy now that you have kicked off with your Post Counter, 3 now ..soon have your 2nd gold tent

Talk again I hope

Gary
