Well after talking about it on here last night and then putting a "list" together of what we need, me and the wife went looking round go outdoors today and we decided yes the maritsa 700 was a definate purchase. so went home and searched the web to see if it was being sold cheaper anywhere else, so we could go back to go outdoors and get the price match. well after many, many phone calls to different stores across west yorkshire and a couple in kent it seems like we thought this was going to be very popular and sold out !!
There was 1 place we hadnt thought about so we gave it a shot and hey they have a couple left, after speaking with most store managers it seems vango are selling very quickly out of this tent and the next batch isnt due until late may/early june we needed ours for june and wasnt planning to purchase until april but after hearing this we needed to get one NOW and so after a frantic 45 minute drive we are now the proud owners of a Maritsa 700 with footprint and carpet, Happy Days cant wait to try it out now.

I know the problem Andy, we searched high and low for a 500 and they seem to be rarer then hens teeth. We ended up going for the 600 and managed to get a footprint but we're now searcing for a carpet. We also needed it for Easter and didn't anticipate the problems we had getting one. Just hope it's all worth it.

carasash we were hoping to go out today and put it up, check it over but the weather has turned out to be very damp as soon as the weather is nice and dry we will do it and of course pictures will be taken lol
right well we managed to get out yesterday and pitch up our tent, it took us about an hour but im sure theres an easier way ?? inserting the pins into the bottom of the poles seemed to be a problem even with the tensioners slackened right off ?? also the idea of gathering at the back and walking the whole tent forward seemed to be a struggle !! apart from that it went ok lol it was quite windy outside but when stood in the tent you couldnt feel a thing the sown in groundsheet obviously does make a make difference. overall very impressed with the tent and cant wait to get camping 3 photos succesfully uploaded to my gallery take a look.
We have recently bought the Maritsa 600 too. We got ours from Attwoolls in Gloucestershire and they still appear to have the 600 carpet in stock for £75.00. You can buy online.

That is the great thing about steel/ali poled tents. Most people new to camping worrying about the rain and being dry. Pretty much every tent on sale is waterproof, however they're not all windproof.
It's only when you've been camping in strong winds, seen your tent getting flattened and others rushing home early, that you realise that the wind is far worse than the rain.
