Hi, we had a double skin dome. Pitched inner first then fly went over the top. You kust pitch in the same way as any other tent really, make sure its tight and everythin, peg it all down and then throw fly over the top, square it up, tie it on and peg it down. What specifically do you want to know and i'll try and answer?

Hi
We have a Halo73 which is inner first and is the only tent I have had that I cant pitch on my own.
Pitching the inner is easy exactly the same as pitching a normal flysheet. When it comes to pulling the flysheet over you do need 2 people and have some tent pegs in your pockets ready to secure it. Our outer flysheet is marked in one corner which corresponds to a marked corner on the inner just pull it over and peg it out. When we pack away we make sure that the flysheet is folded so we can easily see the marked corner. Once youve done it a couple of times its easy.
There are a cople of disadvantages with inner firsr tents. If its raining the bedrooms get wet and if its windy the outer flysheet can become a kite when you pull it over hence have some tent pegs in your pocket ready. Having said that we found it nice and cosy due to the double skin and have less condensation as youre basically living in an inner layer of breathable fabric
Good luck and enjoy your trip

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Yes it does take 2 to throw the flysheet over, and it can be fun in the wind. Just make sure its all lined up properly with the seams and it should be ok. It is more fiddly than a single skin but once you get the hang of it you'll be ok. Our first tent was double skin and we were ok so if we can do it anyone can lol

We used to have a Vango Diablo which was inner first, on windy days we had to tie the flysheet to the front of the inner before throwing it over, or we would have ended up paragliding round the site.
I'm only 5"2 so we used to throw it over and grab a guyline to try and pull it round other side, some of the best laughs we've had have been trying to do this, (also some of our disagreements too caused by this), all go to make a memorable camping trip I suppose.

Yes that website is wrong!

Its def pitch the inner first, there are basic instructions sewn in to the bag, and when you get it out, you can tell whats supposed to happen!
Thanks for the advise, I can see it being real windy at this campsite (apparently the wind really gets going down the valley), I can see a giant kite in my future, most worried about pitching in the rain tho, mind you, nothing like learning under pressure!
I'm sure we are going to be fine, I'm just panicking! We've never camped this early in the season before either (I would call us fair weather campers but we never get that lol) so added worry of being cold, just glad we've got the extra protection of the SIG!
Kids are excited tho (and so am I!), just got to grit our teeth and get on!
