Hi All,
We have a Hi Gear Corado 6 which we used extensively last year and cannot fault. It's been through torrential rain and gale force winds and as far as France and back and it really is a brilliant tent.

Now that we are into camping season again, I was thinking of upgrading it with a few extras such as the carpet and the canopy extension. They are not cheap at around 80quid each and I'd love to hear from people who have already purchased these extras (especially the canopy)on whether it's worth the fork out. I love the porch on the Corado (it's essentially why we bought it) and we use it to cook and sit out of an evening which is lovely. It's especially good if you have kiddlies as you can put them to bed and then sit outside with a beer... Anyway, it's all fine when there are just 3 or 4 of us but any more than that and someone's likely to be getting wet (as it's inevitably raining whenever we camp!)so we've been thinking of getting the extension to give us a bit more room and save us having to take a gazebo.

I'm not sure whether this would be a brilliant addition or whether it ends up feeling like you are not outdoors at all?! I'd also be interested to hear about any potential issues with pitches as it's already a flipping big tent ;-)

Cheers, Emma

No personal experience of that particular tent but the canopies/extensions I have for 2 of my tents are invaluable and I would say well worth the extra financial investment!

Looking on the Net, the Corado 6 is 675cm long and the canopy adds another 120cm to the length so you're coming in at 795cm overall length by 410cm wide.
This means you would still be within the limits for a standard C&CC site pitch which are 9m x 5m.

If it was me, I'd definately buy the canopy and maybe look for a suitable sized carpet from another manufacturer that may be cheaper or look for second hand ones (I bought 2 Outwell carpets off eBay for my Licata and Khyam tents)

Hi, we have this tent and canopy.  What can i say, we just love it.  We always go camping with friends, who incidently now have the same tent as us (but the newer colours) but we always seem to congretate in our porch and extension for the evenings.  I have to say we would not be without it now.

Good luck, you won't be disappointed.

Keiley
