Hi - we've not really started camping yet (in our Icarus 600!) but already I'm of the mind that we'll get more use out of a canvas/polycotton tent (I have family in France and we'll be travelling there to see them on a regular basis. I'm already dreading this years trip in a polyester tent).

Is there a definitive list anywhere? I'm not even sure of all the models which are made of canvas or PC, so although I know what our requirements are likely to be I don't know where to look for the best option.

I'm not sure about polycotton tent brands, but for canvas frame tents; Cabanon, Raclet, Marechal, Jamet, Lichfield, Sunncamp, Relum, Easycamp - probably a few more which I can't remember at the moment.

Hi LucybeR07

I think the first thing to choose is the style of tent you want.

1. Tunnel tent. Almost all the major maufacturers will make polycotton versions of their popular tunel tents. To the usual suspects (Outwell, Vango, Kampa etc) you could also look at Cabanon, Esvo or Hypercamp, who make canvas tunnels.

2. Frame tents - as per the previous post

3. Pyramid tents - again many maufacturers will make these including Cabanon (her is one example of theirs), Esvo, Hypercamp, De Waard or (my favourite) Atomatent

Hope this helps

Brilliant - thanks both. Personally I love the pyramids, those Atomatents are gorgeous!

Off to google all of these names. Thanks again!

I agree, Atomatent are fantastic, they are made in Uden, Holland by a couple of ex De Waard guys. They made the extension for my tent. Let me know if you are interested and I will put you in touch with who I dealt with.
