Hi, am hoping someone will be able to identify this tent for me.  The owner doesn't know the make, it's a 3 sleeping pod tent with a porch and weighs 11.3kg.  I've hopefully attached some pictures as well.  Would love to know the make before I buy it!

Thanks alot for any help you can give me.

a friend of mine had one too, ended up throwing it away, the poles just broke and frayed plus it was a nightmare to pitch as too much tension on the poles, just to get them onto the pins, many a bloodied finger and the language always matched the color.

Hi there!  Yes it does look like my Tesco one (ours is green tho).  Ok for a starter tent, but have now got a Quechua pop up tent for easier pitching.  We got our Tesco vis a vis tent for £60 half price, but wouldn't have payed £120 for it!  Would have been better with a SIG and windows!

Yep, looks like the standard generic cheapy tent sold by the multiples and branded for them.

Any particular reason that you want to know the manufacturer?

Welsome to UKCS shalaa and your first post.

At a guess, I'd agree with other posters - it looks like a generic supermarket tent. These are often not up to the quality standards of well-established brands although lots of people do get years of use from them.

You say you are thinking of buying this tent secondhand? May we ask what price is being asked for it?

If anyone else is facing that particular problem, a solution is to use a hacksaw to remove about 6mm (a quarter-inch) from each open ferrule at the pole ends thus effectively shortening the pole by 12mm (half-an-inch). This should be enough to make it easier to spring the poles onto their pins but, if not, one can shorten them further in 6mm stages.

Be careful to only remove a little at at atime. Also, clean up the resulting burr round the ferrule ends with a small file or with emery cloth.

Hi, thanks alot for the replies.  I got this tent for £60, only wanted a cheap tent at first to make sure me and the kids actually enjoy camping!  Only intend to do a few sunny weekends camping this summer and if we enjoy it i'll look at buying something decent.  Thanks for the info
