We've just recently purchased a Vango Samara 400 and wondered if anyone on the forum has any experience in pitching or had any problems with zips etc.
I've read a review on the 600 which seemed favourable but some of the comments on the forum regarding zips and holes in the bedroom compartment is a bit worrying, so just wondering if there is the same problems with the 400.

It may just be a faulty batch - all manufacturers have a few. Best to check over any tent when it arrives. These sorts of problems will be quickly identified and rectified given Vango's lifetime guarantee for manufacturing faults.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
We too have just purchased a Vango Samara 400 but don't actually plan on taking it out until end of May and putting it up beforehand is not an option for us as we have nowhere to put it up.
If anybody else is planning pitching before the end of May, any reviews would be appreciated.
Good Luck Speedcamp but hope niether of us need it and all is well with both our purchases. I was really excited about this tent until I've just read the bad forum report on the 600.
Thanks DebnPete. Have a great weekend, hope you love your new tent and all is well with it. Nice weather this weekend as well so should all be good. Have Fun.
We are hoping to buy a vango samara 400 ourselves but couldn't find a display tent anywhere reasoanably close to London. We wanted to see how it looks like in the flesh before we decide to buy it. Have you got any photos of the tent inside and out that you can perhaps show us?
I like the 600 but there are very few reviews and the zips issue is a worry. Also one at cross camping was ripped on tent on main door where the guy rope is attached.

Sometimes you have to take bad reviews on "new models" not too seriously as a few faults tend to get posted quicker than the good reviews. All manufacturers have had bad batches at some time. Also on display models think how many people have been in and out of the tent, tripped over guy ropes etc etc etc, I think the life expectancy of a display tent is only around 3 months
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Yep, it'll probably be ok, just give it a good check over when your away. However, in an ideal world I would say that its always a really good idea to test pitch a tent before using it proper. Not just to check for faults, but to practice pitching etc too.
Anyway, enjoy your new tent and have a great time away!
