We are considering buying a 4/5 metre bell tent but would like to see one up before we do so. Seeing as none of the retailers have any on display in this neck of the woods it is proving difficult! Is anyone planning a camping trip with one somewhere in the north east of england (we live in Gateshead)where we could come along and have a look?
We have two children aged 3 years and 12 months and are wondering whether the 4m version is big enough and about the practicalities of camping in a bell tent!
Many thanks
Rachel

Shame we aren't heading up that way, but I would definitely recommend a Bell Tent. We got a 5m ZIG and use it for me and the wife and our 3 teenagers. Takes a bit more organisation as we don't bother with the inner tents... I suppose the best thing is to read as many reviews as you can.
I think you would be daft to go for the 4m, there is very little cost and weight difference. There are 4 of us in a 5m Tipi style tent and its just about right so i would say 5m.
We have a 5m ZIG and its perfect for us (2 adult, 2 children - 7 and 4, well I hope it is, we've not actually slept in it yet!), we have friends who decdied to go for a 4m, they've literally just got it so I can back to you after next week. We went to Obelink to get ours, they didn;t have a 5m on display, they did have a couple of 4m though, and I felt they were too small esp if you wanted the inner tent.

Huge amount of difference in the space between the 2 tents - the 5m isnt just the floor area, the height gives a lot more room as well - for the sake of an extra £50 definitely go with the 5m (look on ebay the 4m come up quite often where they are selling to get a 5m)
The smaller ones only advantage is it is easier to heat
