Still looking hard for a tent for a couple of family camping trips in the next few weeks.

I'd pretty much decided on an Outwell Monatana or similar outwell model.  As the tents on eBay seem to be going for not much less than list, and there are a few deals on, I think I might buy new.

Can get a Montana and Footprint new for £499.  I would like to get some kind of covered extension to give us some space outside the main living space to store kitchen kit and even cook if raining.

I can get the front extension for £160, but can get last years front awning reduced to £180.  (I believe the only notable difference between the 2010 and 2011 awning is the inclusion of the fluorescent piping around the foot of the tent.

My initial thoughts are to get the awning (for the increased weather-proofing and the groundsheet).

Do Montana users think this is the right decision?  I'd appreciate any advice from people who used these rather than just looked at them on the website!

Haven't got a Montana 6 but I'd suggest the awning is the better buy as the extension will catch the wind and probably need to be taken down if it gets too breezy.

Not wishing to influence you at a late stage but a slightly marked Kampa Filey 6 here and the add on vestibule comes to around the same price as a Montana without extension or awning...

Read on another thread that there is 20% off all tents in store at Go Outdoors this weekend with a voucher.  (Or 15% off evcerything 5-8PM on Thursday)

Does anyone know how I could get hold of a voucher? (Or have a PDF copy they could email) Would be a hugh saving with the other bits of camping kit we need to buy!
