After months of head scratching we have just bought a croyde 6 from outdoor megastore.I had done a lot of research on this and hope we have made the right choice.Anyway its just arrived so on friday its time for our trial pitch and im sure i have read to not take any notice of the kampa instructions on pitching. which begs the question on how to pitch the easy way.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well we pitch ours exactly the way Kampa say and have had no problems at all. We peg the back, put all the roof poles in, put legs in then erect from the front... (from memory!) ... follow the instructions you will be fine. From unloading the boot to sitting down with a beer and everything sorted takes us about an hour.
Thanks debs398,We will try the way kampa suggest and report back,if all goes well we will spend a couple of nights in it.Kids are really looking forward to it having made the break from a bongo with awning set up it will be nice to have a bit more room.
1-Lay out the tent and peg the four corners of the tent but make sure the adjustable straps are slack, the four corners of where the ground sheet is sewn in, forget anything to do with the canopy at this time.
2-open all the doors to allow air into the tent when you begin to lift the tent.
3-slide only one roof bar (near the middle of the tent) through its sleeve, attach a leg at either side making sure you have not caught the fabric between the legs anf roof bar and then lift the legs on either side with the roof bar, then fit the ring and pins into the bottom of the leg poles, this section will now be standing as you have pegged the ends of the tent already.
4-shut the doors and if you need to guy out the one hoop you have just lifted.
5- repeat number 3 working to the back and again guy out if required.
6- repeat number 3 for the last hoop at the front and guy this hoop a little forward.
7-fit any internal poles
8- go around the tent and peg and guy until the tent looks nice and neat and taught but not overly tight.
9- then finish by pitching the canopy.
30 mins max
I always roll back the canopy when we take down the Croyde so when we come to pitch the tent the next time the canopy is not hanging down and getting in the way.

Well its up! All done in an hour using the gary way, very pleased with how it went for a first pitch, im sure we will get quicker with the plenty of practice we are hoping to have.well pleased with the tent so far i think we did make the right choice but time will tell. It was boiling putting it up in sun and since then its clouded over and started raining,Ha ha,thats cornwall for you.
Hi all
We use this system for pretty much all the sewn in groundsheet style tunnel tents, not sure why all the brands still insist on giving instructions that say "Gather all the pole together and walk forward" sort of thing. We have found customers used to damage their tents doing it the old way and we have far less problems with customers twisting the frames etc now that we advise them to pitch "The Gary way" lol

Quick update,Rained solid for 4hrs and being honest im glad it did. Not a drop came in and it was proper rain as in the deafening type and windy with it.What a great tent that has already enhanced our camping fun.Wife and kids love it so much that we are going to camp again tonight regardless of what the weather brings.
A chuffed to bits camper,mark.

I have offered to pitch my friends Croyde 4 for her next weekend. I have used Gary's method for my frinton 5. Was wondering if I could use the same method for her tent.
My tent I do front pole first and was wondering about her front pole being the canopy. Glad you have answered that question for me. I feel more confident about her tent now.
Hi
With the Croyde we start with the middle roof pole (side and front doors open) due to the front canopy falling backwards unless you guy it out... Anyway, if you start from the middle and work outwards and then the front two section will need to be guyed out forwards as you go to keep them help up.
