I've just bought a second hand Outwell Hartford xxl, which we are planning to try out on Friday, before a break at Spring bank, but it has no pitching instructions because the previous owner couldn't find them. Thought I'd try online, but have been at it about an hour and still haven't found any. Can anyone out there help me please?

Thanks - I've watched the video on there, but I'm not convinced I'll remember it on the day. Was hoping for something written to remind me. I am pretty much a camping novice!

It also depends when your Hartford was bought new - up to I think 2007 that tent went up inner 1st which is the one I have - but the newer models go up as 1 with the bedrooms pods attached.
I would also say have a look for it sewn into the bag. I would seriously seriously seriously consider doing a test pitch before you go camping to make sure the tent is ok and nothing is missing

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Thanks all - this is the 'test pitch' as the thing is too big to fit on our garden! We aren't going so far away that it'll be a problem to pack up again if it all goes horribly wrong. The family who pre-owned the tent are friends of friends and only used the tent once before deciding camping wasn't for them, so I feel I can trust its all there. Hubby reckons he'll be able to figure it out...wish us luck
hi i hope i can help we have the xl with three bedroom pods i think yours is the one with 4 ill try to explain how we put ours up
we lay the inner tent out
click all the pole sections together so there is then 3 long poles [i think the sizes of poles is all the same]
feed 2 of the pole sections diagnally through the tent so the poles cross in the middle
then the third pole section goes above where the door is
then its just a matter of clipping the poles into the pins on the end of the tent starting with the diagonal poles first it helps if someone is inside the tent lifting the poles where they cross
once this is done it should start takeing shape put all the clips onto the poles
then peg down when pegging the bedrooms try to make sure the ground sheet of the bedroom pods is nice and flat this prevents bedrooms being to saggy
next is the hardest bit put the top outer tent over we always try to make sure that the skylight window is in line with the inner tent then we know its lined up ok
use the velcro tapes on the inside of the outer tent to fasten to poles
then put the larger poles in the door way to create the porch
from this its just a matter of pegging out,
i hope this helps you

like the original post i have a blue hartford xl which does not have the colour coded posts as featured in the glossy outwell youtubes. i will contact them for confirmation but could anyone confirm that the tubes listed below (as included in my 2nd hand tent) are all present and correct. if you could give me a steer on which supports what then i would be very grateful although i will give it a go!
1 x 3 section slim pole
3 x 8 section slim pole
3 x 11 section slim pole
2 x 4 section fat pole with a spike on end and a stopend on the other
2 x 4 section dark grey poles with some sort of plastic angled bracket on the other
