I envy you all who are in outdoor at the moment.
well...I'm joking. Enjoy the fantastic weather.
Recently, I bought a outwell vermont L.
I sure someone will notice me who are post a question Monty6 vs Floria5.
Anyhow, I'm looking for trial pitching and found that my garden is not enough space for it.
so, I've called to nearest C & CC campsite and they will charge one night pitch fee(18~20pounds)for 2~3 hours trial pitching.
I wonder, Is it reasonable price?
Happy Easter!!

That's odd because most C&CC sites do motorhome stopoffs (up to three hours and you can use all the facilities) for £6.60. The trouble with club sites is that some site managers are helpful and flexible but others are not quite so flexible because they don't need the hassle. Perhaps you might have more luck with a privately owned site where they feel they can do what they like with no comeback from HQ? Or, as you mentioned a C&CC site, are you a member because perhaps a local Certificated Site might be more accommodating. Even if you're not a member you can look them up on the C&CC website and you might just strike lucky as they are all privately owned and you might find one that doesn't mind you doing your test pitch, but strictly speaking you are meant to be a member to camp at a CS so they might be a bit sticky about it if you're not a member.
We went to a site 20 minutes from where we live at it was also a pub they only charges pitch £10 for the night and yes we stayed the night it was that good!.
When we came to air out our frame tent we went to a park, I drove past it every day to work so I basicall knew it would be ok to pitch for a few hours. I assume as long as you don't intend to stay in it - pitching it wouldn't be a problem at any park council or otherwise (I know Kingsbury Water Park - the Park not the camp site alow day tenting but its £3 to get in). We had quite a few people ask us about camping etc, a few wanted to know if we were stopping - only problem we had was we didn't take any food and drink with us and it was quite a warm day!

Try your local park, we rang the parks department of our local council and they were fine about it
I would go for this option and save your money

newhaven water front carpark will allow you to go in and park with the caravan. ot motorhome. but and heres the good bit! the gate keeper said there is no camping allowed here by the rules of the owners. I asked what if the council or police turned up. and was told its all owned by a french company and as such they are the only ones who have a say! and its nothing to do with the police or council. being private land. I was then told and I quote; I go home at 5pm and if you are not out of here I lock the height barrier and you will not leave untill I return in the morning and then you will have to pay another £5 to get out!
understood fully and had a good nights fishing right on the beach, with the caravan for £10. pub next door also! and fresh bass BBQ for breakfast.
I'd searched CS's near my place and paid 5 pounds for trial pitching and done with a bit of wind.
I'm so glad to be done.
One thing I've noticed and warned to those who are going to the field in the royal wedding bank holidays.
the ground was so hard. I thought of lack of rain in the recent days. My precious(?) plastic luminous pegs from outwell were damaged. Even I couldn't managed to peg properly at all. I didn't bother it was just trial. but I'm thinking to buy some rock pegs for the future.
