I've just bought a Gelert Meridian 8 and bought the Porch also.
Had a trial put-up this weekend and all went well (despite lack of any real instructions from the manufacturers other than how to push a pole into a pole sleeve!!).
Can anybody tell me whether the porch should be a snug fit where it meets the main tent? I couldn't get it less than a 6 inch gap either side, which I would have thought that in high wind and rain would not be ideal. Also the front skirt seemed a touch high and again would allow quite a blow to come through!
The Gelert website doesn't offer any technical help/advice either.
Thanks. Paul.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
We have an equivalent Vango tunnel and porch, and I have found that if the rear frame is pegged down up against the side of the tent, the gap between it and the tent is minimal.
However, when the tent door is open, the gap will be greater as the tent walls either side will slacken (as the door panel isn't zipped, and therefore isn't pulling them together)
The gap at the bottom is an irritation, and the further out you peg, the larger the gap becomes, but the tighter the material and therefore less "flappy" it is in the wind.
