Hi.
Firstly great site and thanks for the site reviews and site finder map.
We are looking for a new tent, we currently have a Vango Beta 350. Its good, but we are looking for something a bit more comfortable we can stand up in.
We've seen a few like the Vango Calisto and Icarus, also just seen Outwell Wyoming for a similar price. Does anyone have any views on these?
Our current tent is a tunnel design and I worry a large tunnel tent wouldn't be very stable. Will the metal frame on the Calisto make it stronger or is this not really an issue?
Thanks in advance!
Paul

I have the Icarus and it is a very quick pitch tent and is also quite stable with its integrated tension band system. It did very well in strong winds last July when we got caught up in a terrible storm in Somerset

If you go for the Icarus do a price match against go outdoors and get the extra 10% discount
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
The Calisto - the steel poles would be a decider for us. Much prefer a stable tent to one that sways around you... The space, more windows and reduce slope on the front door is also a plus.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
I have just brought the Vango Calisto 400, I have not had a chance to set it up yet - but the steel poles were certainly the decider for me!
It's certainly heavy with them though, the tent is supposed to only weigh 15KG, but on the box it states 20KG; sadly I do not have large scales so am unable to figure out which is correct
Thanks for the recommendations.
I don't think weight would be a problem as it well only be for longer stays with the car.
Time to go and look at prices!
