I've treated myself to a new tent - first time ever - and got a canopy, footprint and carpet too. We're going away in three weeks and I'm so excited! Just wondered if anyone has the new Icarus 600 with the canopy, and how they are getting on with it? Apart from colour, what differences are there from last year?
Thanks!

One really good feature of the 2011 models is the fly mesh on all external doors and the flysheet HH has been increased the rest is pretty minor I think. So all in all should be a nicer tent than previous models

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
We will be using our Icarus 600 for the first time next week. Apart from the improvements mentioned above, the arrangement at the bottom of the doors has been improved, including velcro strips. Another major improvement from our point of view is that the inner ('bedroom pods') can be fully removed from the tent, rather than sewn in to the groundsheet, as on the 2010 model.
russandjax, we found the lantern holder ring lurking behind the top of the storage pockets, between the bedroom doors.

We are just back from our first trip in our new 2011 icarus 600 + canopy and are really happy with the purchase. The main differences for the 2011 model as already said are the fly mesh addition to the front door (2010 model already had this on side but not front), and improved sealing round bottom of the doors. As campers who live in scotland, these are both very important features for us! We picked the icarus as we wanted light weight bags and poles to make it easier for us to store, carry and errect tent and we got on very well with it. The canopy makes the living area enornmous and is a great addition. The tent itself is big enough on its own though for short trips.
Only criticism I have are yes, lack on hanging spaces for lights, no storage pockets inside canopy, and we found it hard to know how to tuck in bottom of canaopy and groundsheet (which is loose) - it flapped about a lot in wind and we ended up securing it round edges on the inside with stones!
Glad to know the Icarus is pleasing most people then! So the inners are not attached then - can it still be pitched as one, or is it best to remove them - what have people found?
Just over 2 weeks to go..... hope the wind drops a bit.....got the delta pegs all set though!
