Tell us a bit more about what requirements you have for the tent and who will be using it eg. kids, adults teens etc. Might help to narrow the field a little.

Has the campsite told you that your tent is too big?
They do appear to have hard standings which are suitable for caravans so can't see why they can't fit your tent in.

If not, have you thought about just paying a double pitch fee? If it is only going to be the odd time at places like this then it may be cheaper than buying a whole new tent?

Do you have to camp near Gullivers are there no other sites in the area which would take your tent ?  I live near Drayton Manor Park and although they have a camp site there are others within 10 min drive away just as good.

Take a look at the khyam Ontario 8. It is a true 8 berth tent and will fit 4 double air beds in. It is quick and easy to erect and fits on a standard pitch. If you can get the sun porch for it, its even better. We have the Kansas 8 which is the same tent made for outdoor megastore, in a different colour.  I am sure with some juggling it would accomodate you all. It is very spacious.

What size are their tent pitches?
I would second the Ontario 8 as a fantastic, true 8 berth tent (it will easily accommodate 8 x 75cm wide airbeds) and at 7.5m x 3.7m will fit on a standard camping pitch.

The new Vango Midas 800 is only 630 x 320cm. Currently some on eBay new with silly starting prices?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VANGO-MIDAS-800-8-MAN-FAMILY-TENT-/370509838704?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN&hash=item56441b7970 take a look at the plan (as I don't think the picture is of the 800)

Hi 7 go camping. Have you got a budget in mind? You can get very good Vango/Coleman/Gelert weekend tent's for around £220-299.00. That's really about it.

Amazon have a Coleman Coastline Deluxe 8 man for £219.90 (Dimensions-660x290)

Smallest I could find was Vango Midas 800, as someone has already mentioned above! £269 from Allweathers.co.uk (630x320)

Gelert do a Vector 8 man for £249 from Yeomansoutdoors.co.uk (680x290)

The largest of the lot is a Vango Tigris 800, £299 from thefamilytentshop.com (740x300)

All have sewn in groundsheets and are either tunnel or vis a vis tents.

I would choose any of the above for a large family weekend tent. They all have fibreglass poles so will be easier than your Kampa to erect in super fast time! I know...I have an Outwell and the steel poles do take a bit longer to put together than fibreglass!

Best of luck and do let us know what you decided to do about your dilemma!! :o)

I can't beat my decathlon pop ups - have 3 and can adjust depending on how many of us. They have the base tent on special offer at £35. You can add a bedroom for £30. Join two bases together - one large living room + large bedroom(two adult plus cot). add  two smaller pop ups for the kids to arrange where they will fit on the pitch 4.5m x 4.5m. 5 min set up 10 min put away. I can get three of these easily in Focus boot.  You will then have flexibility of extra tents as kids grow - friends etc. Don't be tempted by bargain pop ups - they are single skin and cold and damp.
