Ooh conflicting tarp reviews, as i thought not great if windy which isnt great if you go out for the day and it turns windy. I wouldnt like to come home to a damaged tent.

Twinwood is August bank holiday weekend.

Your tent looks lovely. Glad you are pleased with it. We absolutely adore ours.

We too have the tarp from obelink but the winds were horrendous when we went away on the Royal Wedding weekend so we couldn't have a play around with it.

hi, glad you enjoyed your weekend, the pics look great , your husband said he'd enjoyed the fishing, 60 in a day isnt bad going is it.

were spending the weekend there camping and fishing in a few weeks, 17th june. Next time your there i'll have to show your husband how its really done and catch some of the big carp.

see you on your next visit, Jamie

think it's the best bit of fishing he's done since he started.  Hoping to be back some time next month, got too much on till then.  Be nice to see how the improvements are going when we come back.  Think hubby wants to go in the back bit next time lol.  He also wants to know what he needs to catch the big boys lol

all he really needs for some of the bigger fish is simply some stronger line, prob around about 10lb main and 8lb hook link and some size 14 hooks, and a lot of patients, they dont come out as easy as the rudd and roach. we had a guy in the back pond on sunday and he had the best part of 40 tench out.

over and out peeps

Hi Diane

Really pleased to see you got your bell tent at last and nice to hear it was easy for you both to put up (with your health problems)

So will the bell tent be taking french lessons! Or will the Bear Lake get one last outing before he goes!!

Looks a fab site and perfect for a bit of R&R, despite the weather. We used our bell tent out for the first time this year at May day weekend and used the Oblink tarp. At Easter we used the Wolf Lake, but to be honest we just love the bell tent cos its so easy (but I won't hijack your post with my pics! will post them when I can be bothered!!)

Enjoy your future trips

Best wishes Sam

The tarp is great in good weather but pretty hopeless in the wind - it acts like a giant sail

I find the porch loads more useful as I can use it every trip and it shelters the doorway, so the door can be left open and no rain coming in

Congratulations on the new tent!

It was much easier and it will be coming to France as we've already got rid of the Bear Lake as we knew that it's too much for us so no point in keeping it.  Will look out for them pics.  Even your daughter said she preferred the bell tent so maybe it'll not get used as much in future?

Any tarp in wind is like a sail, we have 2 polyester ones we got from Millets last year that were the same, but prefer the Obelink one as it is bigger and square so more choices of how we put it up.  Hubby seems to think yours fits better than ours lol.  We'll have another go this weekend

Looking at Vals' tarp pictured above, looks like it would be ok to remove the front over door guy line, to give better day time access???

Not tried it with mine yet, as it has been too windy.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
