I have just taken delivery of a new Hypercamp Rosas 4 from Obelink. I haven't tried to put it up yet but will try and squeeze it into the back garden when the grass dries out.
One question, I found the following bit in the tent bag - it is a 10" square piece of groundsheet material. Anyone got any idea what it is for?

I too had one of those in the bag. It has sat on the garage shelf for the last year waiting for a use. The only thing I originally thought of was to cover the pointy end of the poles when packed, but it doesn't seem necessary. You could always e-mail the photo to Obelink and ask, I'd be interested to know.
Took your advice and emailed Obelink. They replied very quickly with the following:
Thank you for your e-mail. We have looked at your picture and it is an extra cover for the protection of the flysheet in the point of the roof of the tent. If you put this on there the poles can not damage the flysheet.
Ah, that's great. I'd better get mine off the shelf and in the tent bag. Thanks for taking the trouble. I wish all UK suppliers were half as good as Obelink.
Cheers

I used this extra piece the first time I put mine up but have never bothered since & have not had any problems, the rubber disc on top end of the pole seems to sit in the point nicely, the piece of pvc seems to let the pole move around a bit more as it slips against the canvas unless things are pulled down really tight.
I thought their reply a but strange. I have an Eldorado but no extra cap. My thought, was that perhaps it stopped the rubber cap marking the fabric as some black rubber items do.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
