Hi Padster & welcome to the forum 
If it's the bottom of the door which is flapping & letting the wind through, could you put some velcro on the bottom of the door & on the sig to hold it closed.

If you want something to last I would recommend that you put in a zip. Not to difficult ,just a bit of patience. I alter my tents all the time and hope one day to make one. Everthing you need can be purchased from Brian park camping. Hope this helps..................

Be aware that if you enclose the doors fully at the bottom, the tent might not dissipate the condensation build up efficiently. I know my Carolina tent needs a good air flow through the bottom of the doors and up through the vents at the tops. It also allows any heavy gases like carbon monoxide/dioxide build up to escape from using cookers and the like.
