Just getting back into camping after many years. We camped before kids in a basic two man tent, two kids later and we want to go away as a family. The kids are 5 and 8. We've been looking around at all the family tents and it's a minefield. Any and all advice gratefully received.
Since posting yesterday we are going to look at the Outwell Montana 6 today

Hi. We are just coming into our first season camping - I used to camp with my parents, OH hasn't camped since he was 18! So many choices!!! I am sure you will get some really helpful advice on here
For four people, you probably need a 6 man tent - looks like you are already headed in that direction! Try to look at as many tents as possible so you get a feel for what you like. Montana 6 is a lovely tent - was out of our price range this time, but would definitely consider it in the future! Make sure you read the tent reviews on this site too, I found them really helpful.
Dont forget to check out some Kampa tents as well before you buy. As has already been said a 6 person tent would be ideal, a 5 person tent would be cosy and a 4 person tent would be too small. Best thing to do if you can is go and have a look at some tents on display

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
