Was thinking about giving up camping .But have decided that would like to carry on .But  need a new tent that is wheelchair and family friendly and reasonably easy to pitch .

Needs to fit myself ( f/t wheelchair user and 3 maybe 4 dc in my 2 older ones are rather tall teens .Though think eldest will not be camping much .( could consider older ones in pup tent .

I like the idea of a SIG as feel they are warmer but also need to be able to get in through door so something that maybe unzips .

Also need to fit a doubleheight airbed inside as well , Am wondering about bell tents ?.camping will be at least a week at a time maybe 2 or 3 weeks as will need help putting tent up and down

Thank you

I think a bell might be your best bet.  Anything with an inner is going to cause problems as you won't be able to get the chair in.  A big open space in a decent sized bell should do the trick though.  The kids can pile up the beds in the day to make more room.  Valbarley is the one to ask for advice on bells - she has several.

Check out the new seconds family 4.2XL's from decathlon. As for extras and more living space there are day tents which have flat access and some you can even get inners/sleep pods to put up at night. Or go with the extra pop ups like you said.

Thats the thing about most bedroom pods they have the bathtub type for a bit of added protection for wet getting in.

Hi i had a vango tigris 400dlx 2010 model and i think that  would have been a good choice as the sig toddles up at the corners for when its raining and lies flat to the ground so you can use a wheel chair  . The 2011 model has change that idea now seems a bad idea to me..  Not sure if the tigris 600 2010 was the same? can anybody help on that one??

Something without an inner would work so a Bell or a Cabanon Guadaloupe (but perhaps not big enough?).

What will you do about cooking space?

we use the large bedroom with the divider taken out an have the bed right upto the front of the bedroom pod, we have used the small pod the same way but with low air bed. the 600 would prob be too small for u its just right for us 3 adults and 3 dogs, but they do the 800 too, we went to lots of tent displays befor we decided on our tent.

I would definatly consider the Pup tent option.

That way you could have a smal ish Bell tent (4m?) for the adults and then a normal tent kids.

Cheers

Mike
