We've only pitched our tent 3 times, once in the garden and twice on a couple of short stays close to home. The last one we pitched in the wind and it took us (dh and I) about 2 hours!! This seems excessively long to me, I'm sure it didn't take us this long on the previous occasion (last august).
Has anyone got some tips for great pitching that won't take us 2 hours, we have 4 children and they were getting very fed up whist waiting this time - bless them.
Thank you

Footprint down first,
Assemble all the poles and leave ZIG and canopy zipped off
Spread the canvas out on the footprint and peg out the rear corners
Insert the front pole, stand up and put a guy on the front.
Do the same to the back pole and than fill in with the middle ones.
Slide in the cross braces and then pull out the tent until straight.
Zip in the groundsheet and then clip in the inners.
Last job zip on the canopy, fit the pole and then guy out/peg down.
We have only done it twice and it takes us about 40 minutes.

We don't have a footprint, but we do spread the canvas out (with the zig and canopy off). We then put all the poles together and then one by one, starting from the back insert the poles working our way to the front. I think having a footprint would help, especially if we try your way Sue - thank you for typing all of that out. I just need to purchase a footprint before our next trip in July.
