Ok we have brought the fab Gelert Horizon 6 and it was tried and tested this weekend. However the outside was wet before packing away as it was raining.
We realise it will need to be dry before storing away and our thoughts were to hang it over the childrens climbing frame in the garden but as it is so vast in material, is there any advice you experienced campers can give on this please?

hang it over the bannisters at home rotating a few times.
With our Oakland we put just 1 pole section in and then this opens it up, we then put a fan on the inside blowing it all day, we dont have a garden to set it up.
I take it you dont have room to put the tent up in your garden, do you have a washing line you can drape it over and move it about from time to time. At the end of last season we had a arkansas 7 (mahoosive tent) that we needed to dry. Two weeks of rain when we got home meant it wasnt going in the garden and we dont have bannisters, we spread it out on the floor in the kitchen diner and periodically folded other bits out until it was all bone dry. Of course I couldnt get from one side of the house to the other or use the table, the poor dog didnt know what was going on and got very excited every time he heard the tent fabric rustle, thought he was going camping again!
Its not unusual for the folk around here to spend some time after a wet camp with their houses looking like a scene of devastation at go outdoors.
Its all part of the fun

Slightly off topic but I know there are companies that offer a dry and store service at the end of the season. Not sure what companies though.
If we have to dry ex-display tents etc we hang them up in the warehouse but I suppose that's the luxury of room.
I've been known to hang / drape in the garage and turn every so often. Careful with the inners if you still have them in as they stay damp the longest if touching the fly. Regarding drying on washing lines I have managed to bend and snap a line before using this so be careful with this option
We usually dry them on our washing line. Then put it in our shed and keep turning it over. Sheds can get really warm inside in the summer even if the weather is not too good outside and we find this really dries it out.

Sorry to hijack your thread but what did you think of the Horizon? I'm almost at the point of ordering one.
We are really pleased with the Horizon 6. It fits our requirements with plenty of room and head height, easy to pitch and kept us warm and dry. Take a look at the reviews of it on here, that is where we did our research and it hasn't disappointed us.
Thanks for all of your advice, I have popped it over the childrens climbing frame in the garden and with it being a windy, sunny day it has dried nicely.

children's climbing frame a great idea.....I also utilise the 8ft trampoline and enclosure, works a treat and kids have a ready made 'den' whilst it's drying lol!! have also had them over bannister rails, over dining tables and even draped from wooden curtain poles....... anything will do in this house lol!
