Anyone tried or want to try one of the new inflatable tent from Vango (or another brand for that matter).  Instead of inserting poles you just inflate them.  This tent is not cheap either but will give you an idea what I am on about.

I would have one if they don't blow away.

Although the Vango Airbeam is no doubt a fine inflatable tent, imho it's a poormans Karsten.

We have one Caro1

I think we are one of the very lucky ones in our tent having minor faults which should not be present on such an expensive tent. There is even a video on You Tube, showing how badly one tent leaked in the rain!

I think there are more negative reports and reviews on this site (ours included), than positive reviews.

I have been in touch with Vango on several occasions, and they are monitoring the reviews and comments with interest.

I have been told that several dealers are no longer taking deposits from people who want these tents. That may be because of supply problems.....but then again, it may be because of the large number of faulty tents being returned for either repair or refund.

Inflatable tents?

Inflatable prices more like, stick with what you know.

If you really want to move away from risky poles why not try carbon poles instead of alloy of fibre glass.

What is to stop the local campsite joker coming along in the dead of the night and letting your tent down?

I saw the yeoman’s team demonstrate the airbeams at the boat and caravan show earlier this year and they unzip a flap and inflate the tent

My first thought was what is to stop somebody coming around your tent unzipping the flap and deflating the beams

Very unlikely we think.

If you stay at a reputable camp site, then there's no more likelihood of a fellow camper deflating the tent tubes, then there is of someone either cutting guy ropes, pulling up tent pegs, sneaking into a tent whilst out etc.

Serious, fellow campers surely wouldn't dream of doing something as childish/immature surely?
