Have you done the full reweathering test run? Basically old canvas can be very dry if it's been in storage for a while so you need to erect the tent, soak it down really well with a hose. It may well leak at this point. Let it dry out fully then hose it down again. Hopefully and usually the first soaking will have plumped up the cotton fibres again and the canvas will be waterproof once more. If not, it needs reproofed, yes.

Fabsil is generally regarded as the best waterproofer. Your two wettings will have got the worst of the dust and grot off the canvas so you basically just have to paint or spray the Fabsil on to the dry canvas. Two thin coats are better than one...allow to dry fully between coats.
