It must be the season for Cabanons!
Mine is to be a summer project, it needs a few repairs.
I was lucky to get this lovely old one from Vickynewby:
It is my treat to myself for selling the trailer tent.
Looking at it, it seems to be the same layout as the Andorra, with two bedroom pods, a back door and the kitchen at the back. I wonder if it is just an older version of it - anyone know what it may be called?
Will also be picking up a trailer on Saturday.
It is residing with my family in Bolton at the moment, so I haven't even seen it in the flesh yet. But as soon as we get back from Nantcol I will be collecting it and arranging a local camp to look it over. It is certainly too big to go in my garden!
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Only joking, Hope you enjoy fixing it up. I never feel like something is mine till I've fixed it up a bit. As I posted earlier, I had a quick play with mine this afternoon, and it's great.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
What a beautiful tent. Do you know what the extent of the repairs required are? If I hadn't just ordered my Guadeloupe I might have got a bit envious. Well actually I still am LOL

I know it needs a bit of patching and the mozzy netting replacing, as well as new clips to hold the inners up. Will probably benefit from new rubbers and springs as well. I have all the rubbers and clips already as we renewed them all on the TT and bought plenty of spares!
And I did quite a bit of stitching on the little Java frame tent (repairing the sun canopy and adding velcro to the window frames) so I figure this is just a step up from that one.
I'm honestly not sure if we will camp in it much, I love the Izmir too much. But I know how much we appreciated the space in the TT when the weather was bad so hopefully it will give us a bad weather option.
Apart from that I have always loved the look of those old Cabanons with the georgian style windows in the brown/green and cream colourway. This one looks a beauty already (although I think those orange flowers may need to go) - I just hope I can do it justice!
