My SIL has an outwell maryland and 5 kids, loads of space but takes a bit of time to pitch...going to be a bit difficult finding a big tent with a quick pitch time...they will all take between 40 minutes and an hour...might be easier finding something to amuse the little ones whilst you pitch.....good luck and have fun choosing!

Hi Gear Kalahari 10 there are some on eBay for £159 but with a best offer you can get them for 140 LOOK HERE really large tent and very easy to erect with your clan I would say about 30 mins with all peggs in! takes me and wife approx 45 mins to fully erect, did a test run the other day.
Thats the 4th ad I have done for that bloke, I should be on commission!
We're novices and have just come back from our first family camping holiday. We have 3 kids - 7, 6 and 2.5. We bought an Outwell Vermont XL and I can't recommend it highly enough. It'll easily fit you and your 4 kids.
I was worried about pitching it - but it took us about an hour and a half. We followed instructions posted on one of the forums on this site. My wife and I did it together and we're still married!
We had mixed weather on a site on a clifftop in Wales and the tent stood upto everything. Some of the regulars on the site said some of the winds were the strongest they'd witnessed. On a coldnight we had 12 adults sitting in the tent. Its about 7metres by 5metres.
Only slight hitch is it took us 2 or 3 goes to get it back in the bag. Hoping that gets easier. Otherwise, it's brilliant. And it won't take up all the space in an MPV.
I was talked into the idea of camping. A week in this tent changed my mind completely. My only thought is that it might take a bit too long for short weekend breaks.
