After missing out on 2 Poleaths in the last 7 days, I've just placed an order for a Studland 8 classic with footprint, vestibule and carpet. Complete package just into 4figures!!! More than I wanted to spend and I'm not sure the updates over the Polzeath(full front windows and roof lining) warrant the extra £300-400 that its costing me. Havin said that, I've never bought a family tent new before and am quite excited about picking it up next weekend! I'm planning a practice pitch at my dads next weekend weather permitting(my garden not big enough) and I'll take some pics and post them.

Glad to see you got a new tent .Why have they changed the name from polzeath to classic(can never understand why)? Never bought a new tent but must be piece of mind, if any problems you can just take it back. Must admit , good choice of tent. People say pound for pound, best tent on the market. Nice one...............l
I have to say what a great tent, we've been looking for a large tent as we have 4 kids and space is a necessity, was just wondering wether you would have any problems finding a site to accomadate its size. .
Thanks Madscot. I must admit that buying new does make me feel slightly happier parting with that amount of cash knowing that I can return it if needed. And it does save me a 500 mile return trip to Devon after I missed out on a Polzeath on Ebay! I was tempted by the Wolf Lake 7 too but the layout of the Kampa with an extra room made more sense for the 6 of us. It's not quite the bargain you got from Tracey but after my heart rate returns to normal after parting with the cash, I'm definately going to enjoy it!

Hi babybels79, don't think there will be much trouble as the tent is 4-5 mtr wide and most pitches that have a size , state 6 mtr wide . Most sites I have been too don't ask about size( south Scotland ) and just let you book..........

There are a couple of sites that won't take it but everywhere I'm planning on going in the near future is fine with it. I guess some options will be closed due to size but if I'm desperate to camp somewhere with size restrictions, I'll use a combination of my other tents(albeit reluctantly as they are all polys).
I'm so glad you got sorted in the end Cmarkod, but it's a shame you ended up having to pay so much. Tent prices have got a little out of hand haven't they! It was only last year that I was in the same position as you are now. I also had to pay the premium (and not much less than you have) Sadly for me it wasn't to be, but at least I know mine has gone to a good home, and I will always have my memories......
