I have wanted a Bell tent since seeing ValBarley's beautiful tents. I have just shown my husband the belltent.co.uk website and he is quite keen too
What I want to know is there anywhere (oxfordshire area or a bit further) that I can see a bell tent erected? either the 4mtr or 5mtr one. I wouldn't know what size would be okay for us until we see one in the flesh. Plus hubby wouldn't part with his cash without seeing one first.
Also we will be in Devon 30th July if anyone knows of some bell tents in that area.
Any help would be appreciated
Tracy

we got the 5m for the two of us and 2 small dogs, not as pretty as ValBarley's but we love it and it's the only tent we have. haven't seen a 4m or the 6m either for that matter, but I'm glad we went for the 5m, lots of space to relax, sleep eat and generally spend time in if it's raining - good luck you'll both love it
I would say if in doubt go for the 5m rather than the 4m. I've got the 4 and I love it but for the difference in price I wish I'd gone for the 5. Being both wider and taller than the 4m it would give me about twice as large an area to stand up in. There's only about a 1 metre diameter area where I can stand upright and that's got the pole going up the middle of it.
Ideally you would want to see one furnished to get an idea of the space you'd need, but I don't know where you could do that. Did you ask Belltent?
Also think about what you sleep on and where you want the bed in the tent. have a look at lots of pictures and try to imagine what you would put where.
We have the 5m and a queen size airbed, and I prefered it set up behind the pole with a table either side, this fits fine in the 5m but would be right up against the canvas in a 4m or would maybe have to be turned sideways.

Oh Val comment away Seriously though, it's only by helpful people like yourself responding that we can increase our camping knowledge. I would love a 5m ZIG bell tent and am saving hard for it so any response is really useful.
I have a Canvas & Cast 4m belltent & for two of you would def recommend you go for a 5m. You get the extra space +extra standing room (as already commented on by armchaircamper).
You could always visit Canvas & Cast as they are in Devon & have bell tents already erected so you could get an idea of the space inside.
