ok after falling in love with the montana but with the front extension as I really want a porch to sit under at night and cook under, I have just had a nose at the Kampa Filey out of curiosity after reading the kampa post.
to me it seems very similar to the montana size wise and style wise but with the porch included.
now I'm confused ,so any opinions peeps

Zips undo full width and then you can either roll it up or use king poles to make a canopy

The Filey will have potentially double the life span (both UV and tear resistance) of the Montana given the 100 denier flysheet and quality of the other materials. It will be heavier though given the additional quality of the materials and the upright front is less wind-shedding (we always go for windshedding designs ourselves...).
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
We too liked the look of the Montana 6 but wanted a porch area for muddy conditions/cooking. We went with the Glendale 5 as it's got the porch and a good sized living area
I like the glendale 5. I am beginning to wonder what we used to talk about in the evenings before we began camping. I would never believed we could chat for hours over tents! he is now looking at a trout lake with extension as we saw thee wolfe lake and both liked the polycotton.
because we have done so well to give up smoking and really saved every single penny of cig money we want to get this decision right and get a tent that will last for years.
My older boys have their own tents or dont come with us but the 15yr old is likely to want to sleepin a pup tent which just leaves us and a 10yr old. so really speeking we dont need a massive tent but I do want the canopy to cook under and sit and talk(probably about tents)

I have an arrow lake with a Yukon River 6 canopy on the front (pics on the arrow lake review). This is a slighter larger set up than what you'd get with a Trout Lake + canopy and works well for us. Lake tents are really good and I reckon you'd certainly be happy if you went ahead with that suggestion. The canopy is great we sit out under it in all weathers!
