I know I have done this!

From what I remember I unzipped the front, then put the 2 poles on the sides, then finally the one in the middle.

Don't remember it being that awkward...

Now, if you were talking about making the front look tidy... that's a trick I've never managed! There's always a bit that's saggy, a bit over-tight & a bit billowing around, no matter what I do...

Hi and welcome
Unzip the whole front section (not the door) both sides then you can pole it up and use guy ropes on the top pole spikes. Ours only came with 2 king poles and you really need 3.

Dont do it if its windy though as it makes a very big kite

Riddles, we've got a Vermont M and you really made me laugh about the comment on the saggy bit, the billowy bit and the over-tight bit....ours is exactly the same!!! We've never actually had good enough weather to put the whole front up, but ours does have 3 poles in the bag. Can't imagine an XL working with only 2 poles though, unless you want a huge hammock that is!!!!

Welcome Maxdot1

Can''t really add much more than has already been said other than, once you master it it gives a whole new dimension to the tent.

If you have been able to roll the front up, then you have found the correct zips to turn this into a canopy. Pole and guy as arsenaldes says.

Check out the review page for pictures of the front open to get an idea of what you need to do,

Thanks all.

The hammock effect is to be expected then, it's not just me dong it wrong!

Will bear in mind the kite effect, watch out for an airborne XL over the campsites of Britain this summer!!
