Help with tent or tent/package suggestions. My brother in law is getting married in August and after a weekend away camping with us they have decided that camping is fun and would like related products as wedding presents.

I would like to get them a tent say max £150 ideally a 4 berth (theres only 2 of them) Any suggestions / bargins / recomendations would be welcome?

Even two people would want something to stand upright in, and a three pole tunnel tent gives them separate living and sleeping areas. I would say something like a Vango Icarus 500 and the 2010 one should be about £130 with the 2011 one being about £185

I was going to suggest the Icarus 500 as well.
Or how about the Licata 400?
I own that tent and it's great for a couple - spacious bedroom pod, large living area, SIG, only 3 poles so really easy and quick to erect, massive windows let in loads of light, standing height throughout.......

Outdoor Action has the Licata 400 for less than £90 - Easy Camp are made by Outwell so you get a lot of good qulaity tent for your money.

You cant go far wrong with an Icarus the 2011 models have a few improvements

Also although Easy Camp are owned by the same company that owns Outwell it doesnt follow that they are made by Outwell, Oase could infact use a different manufacturer for these tent

I would also say the Icarus 500, try nearly new tents on ebay they usually have the eco version, exactly the same only windows made from recycled plastic (i think), bids usually get to between £100 - £130 for it.

Think I might renew my vows so I can ask for prezzies camping related.

i would say any vango tent we looked at lots of tents recently and the vangos are really really well made, good build quality and lovely fabric as far as non canvass goes.

and if you shop around you can get them a nice sized tent and if the overwhelming majority on here say the icarus then i would back them, it is lovely and spacious inside and not stuffy at all

Hi ross, for your budget the icarus 500 would be a good choice, the 2011 model has a couple of improvements to previous models, all doors now have bug mesh[front and side],and the tent now zips up in a fashion that it is fully enclosed with no gaps and draught proof, you will get a 2010 model cheaper but the 2011 would be the better choice, hope you get sorted.

Hi ross003ross  - Can I just say what a lovely wedding present to buy someone.

You don't say what tent you your brother in law & future wife stayed in when they camped with you. I note you have a Cabanon Noumea listed as your tent - so was it your tent they stayed in?  If so, do they want the same sort of tent or at least a canvan or polycotton tent?  If that is the case then you could try ebay, but coincidentally I have just posted a note on this forum re the Hypercamp Elodrado which is a pyramid like your Noumea & with the exchange rate the price of that tent would just come in within your budget.  Good luck.
