Hi just got a new tent(gelert vector 8) and comes with the bedroom pods seperate, we put them in and when folded and packed away the tent we managed to get it all back in the bag fine, leaving the pods in place. My worry is when putting it back up will the poles be strong enough to support the weight of the pods whilst bending into place aswell?

The last time when we went camping I was thinking of doing the same, but decided against it in the end. It would be so much easier if you could.

I am not familiar with that tent but I almost always leave my sleeping pod in when I drop my Outwell Carolina. On saying that, it has steel poles but the only advice I could give is to ensure you leave the door(s) open when you erect it initially. This will allow the tent and pods to inflate with air and reduce the strain on the (fibreglass?) poles.

One thing to be aware of, and I have been caught out with this - if you have any condensation at all either from the fly, the pod or indeed the sig and pack it away then you stand the chance of mildew forming on the fly and the pod.

Personally if it has fibre poles I would take the pods out to reduce the strain on the poles when you put it up as they are not renowned for being that strong. I like Jim have been caught out with condensation above the bed pods which I didnt notice when I left the pods in and ended up with Mildew/Mould. Now I always take the pods out doesnt take long to do

Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
